HexTwist:
HexTwist game begins with a full screen of randomly-placed hexagons. Click any cluster of three hexagons to rotate them. If, during the course of the cluster?s 360-degree rotation, any of the hexagons touch two or more matching hexagons on two sides, the newly-matched cluster will disappear from the board. Points are awarded based on how many total clusters, Star Hexes, and Gold Stars are cleared. But whatever you do, keep an eye out for?THE BOMB! When it shows up you only have nine moves to clear it from the board or it?s game over! If you clear a bomb with a Star Hex, all hexes on the game board of the same color disappear! For every Hex Flower created (6 hexes cleared) a Gold Star appears. These Gold Stars can rotate every piece they are touching, so use them to boost your score.
Scoring
Scoring is based on the size of the clusters cleared, the total number of clusters cleared and the number of bonus pieces cleared.
Clusters are worth a base amount of points, based on their size:
3 hex cluster = 5 points
4 hex cluster = 10 points
5 hex cluster = 15 points
6 hex cluster (a "Hex Flower") = 100 points
Once the base for the cluster is determined, it is multiplied by the current level. For example, a cluster of three hexes on level two is worth a base of 10 points while a Hex Flower cleared on level three is worth 300 points.
Clearing multiple hex clusters in one turn adds a bonus multiplier to each cluster, equal to the number of clusters cleared. For example, clearing two clusters of three on level one results in a formula of (5+5)*4 = 40 points, where each cluster added a multiplier of 2. An additional bonus per cluster is also calculated, based on the total number of Star Hexes cleared in each cluster. Each Star Hex in a single cluster adds a multiplier of two to that cluster only. So, if a single cluster of three hexes on level one is cleared and two of the hexes are Star Hexes, a total of 20 points will be awarded
