The baccarat table is a Kidney-shaped one ,this serves the porpuse of allowing room for the dealers to reach out and handle both bets and cards, the table is about twelve feet long and three to four feet wide. The green baize covering is stenciled with a baccarat layout providing numbered boxes in front of each chair for players to wager on either the banker or player hand. The places are numbered from one to fifteen, with thirteen omitted, as few gamblers would be willing to sit and play at that traditionally unlucky spot.

Up to 14 players occupy the seats which correspond to the numbers on the layout. The No. 13 seat is eliminated, because of the superstition that surrounds the number. So, the 14th player will be seated at No. 15. In front of the players is a section for placing wagers.
You may sit in any open seat at the table, the position does not affect the play in any manner.
here are only 3 forms of bets in baccarat - player banker , and tie, the table must reflect this simplicity. There are seven numbered positions on each side of the table . The numbers run from one to fifteen, excluding thirteen. As in many gambling style games the unlucky number 13 is excluded from boards, and baccarat is a lot about being lucky. Each position has three betting areas associated with it, according to the possible choices at the beginning of each game - the three form of bets. Banker is spelled out across a row of betting areas, above which Player is spelled out. Above both of these bets, and occasionally above another row of the indicated numbers, there is a the center area which is dedicated to tie bets.
On a full table, three dealers work the game at all times, performing similarly to craps dealers. Two dealers (position 1 & position 3) sit or stand near the chips on one side of the table. Each of these dealers takes care of the player's bets on their end of the table. The caller (position 5 - function in equivalent to a croupier) stands in the middle of the table on the opposite side from the dealers, and and makes a call on the hands.
